I get along fine with CS1 (Photoshop 8) !!! If you get along fine with PS CS, you'd probably get along just fine with Photoshop Elements now. It likely has even more stuff in it and will be more compatible with OS X Mountain Lion and beyond. I run PSCS 5. I don't use it enough to do an update anymore. LR does 99.9% of everything I need.
