Amidst the K-3 hysteria (that I have not been immune from) I think
that a lot of prospective K-3 owners may pause to consider another
option that should be shipping at nearly the same time: the full frame
NEX from Sony. Obviously, these are different cameras, at different
price points, but it is assumed that Sony has learned something from
its well-received (but not without shortcomings) RX1 that it will
apply to the A7 and A7r (if this rumor is to be believed:
http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/10/sony-full-frame-nex-cameras-to-be-known-as-the-a7-and-a7r-rumor/
).

The RX1 is a (jaw-dropping?) $2800 and so the interchangeable lens
A7/A7r would have to be at that price point or higher (wouldn't it?).
Frankly, I think that makes the K-3 look like the Bargain of the
Decade at $1299.

Still, for those who must have full frame and can't wait for the
eventual Pentax offering (if there is one) the A7/A7r would give
Pentax owners an option for using their K-mount and m42 glass (albeit
with adapter) if they are willing to forego a prism/viewfinder.

It sounds as if October will not be out before Sony makes the highly
anticipated announcement:
