I'm glad to hear that you are now out of that closet.

Most of my house is not that old.  Mom says that the original 
cabin was build in the 1880's.  The living room floor is old growth
redwood. Today, when looking for some paperwork, I did find a
reference to a title transfer dated 1913.

Those photos are from a shed, which may have started out as a 
carriage house, that we are trying to repair before it falls down
on its own.  Since the Caltrans right of way now contains that
shed, if it were to fall down, we would not be able to replace it.

That wiring, by the way, has not been live in the 40 years since 
my folks bought the place, so it's really only scary in a historical 
reference sort of way.
