ah - if you had mentioned what lens you used I missed it... The
standing pine looks like it is no more than ten feet from the wall

Thanks for commenting, Ann.
I can't recall the relative distance between the near building wall and the
burned stump. My sense is that they were about the same distance from the
camera. Oddly, the burned stump almost seemed to have been a separate event.
I know absolutely nothing about the history of the place.
As I mentioned, the near building was really nothing but a wall behind which
was partially burned and unburned debris from two decaying cabin/shed like
buildings.
I believe the standing pine was as much as 30 or 40 feet further away.(??)

Well the sign shot is funny, of course
The cabin shot is nice, but I'm trying to figure out the story...
the distance between the wall of the cabin and the tree that burnt seems
to make the cabin a very narrow one... was it perhaps a shed of some
kind? and the tree behind survived the fire.. would be interesting to
discover the whole story. OR is it just a camera angle that makes the
burnt tree and the cabin wall look closer together than they are

Wife and I took a drive to Lake Tahoe yesterday. Was a beautiful Fall weather
day, but we missed the peak fall colors.
Found a cabin and out building with just one standing side and another unique
scene along the shore of the lake.
