Thanks.Ya the D1 goes up to 1600 but i have never shot anything that high with it yet.Mostly 200 and 400.The 35-70 is f2.8 also,i'm going to leave the 80-200 at home.To big for the application. Just want to do a good job,who knows were this may go.Going to try Cotty's plastic bouncy thingy,made one today.When i checked the flash (af280t)on the minolta iv meter there was a 1 stop difference from no plastic bouncy to bouncy. Should be fun though.

That should get you plenty of "grain".
