It's native to NZ; maybe the species found its own way here from Australia. They're pretty common here. This guy was fairly cooperative as he'd often pause to have a closer look at something. I took quite a few photos, most of which just slightly missed focus, and I think that was the last one I took. I'd love to try the K-3 with that lens but I'm unlikely to get the chance.
