Wonderful shot, Jack! Some birds are stunning in their beauty; this one is not. I'm sure it is identified somewhere along this thread but I'm guessing a vulture of some sort? Maybe a turkey vulture?

I am undecided about the very oof foliage at the right of the frame. Would a slight crop to eliminate it ruin the balance of the photo? Could you (dare I suggest) clone it out? Otoh is it that much of a distraction? I just don't know. Either way a terrific photo!
