There are several reasons. First of all there it's sociological conditioning. Then there is the case that the mix of emotion affecting hormones trends to skew differently in men than in women, otherwise folks who are transitioning wouldn't need to take hormones for their target gender. While it is wrong to make blanket assumptions about someone's preferences out abilities based on their plumbing, it is just as wrong to insist that everyone is the same. Statistically, men and women behave differently. For example, look at the gender distribution on this list. In a similar vein,I have had many more women ask me to photograph them than men, and they are far more likely to ask to be photographed nude.
