Very busy weekend. Yesterday was the third or fourth annual Shop 'til you Drop Alleycat. For those of you who may be new-ish around here an alleycat is an unsanctioned (and kind of illegal) bike messenger race through the city streets. There are checkpoints but otherwise routing and order is up to the individual racer.
In this particular race the messengers have to go to grocery stores and buy certain food items. They must provide receipts to prove they went to the appropriate stores. The winner is the one who finishes first; failure to bring the proper foodstuff and receipts to the finish line results in disqualification. After the race all the foodstuffs were brought to a local fire hall for the firefighters' annual holiday food drive for the local food banks.
