The simplest and easist way to "evangelize", if one wants to do it, is
to frequent the other places that Pentax people hang out, make a sig
line that points to the PDML, and post often enough in those places
that people see the your sig and check the PDML out. The "danger" of
doing that is possibly discovering that you prefer posting there to
posting to the PDML.

The fixation with "pro" and beating Nikon or Canon in marketshare is
somewhat amusing. It is pretty clear that Ricoh is taking Pentax in
the right direction (in nearly every metric you can think of). Their
latest offering, the K-3 is the embodiment of innovative, with
substantive improvements in nearly every subsystem of the camera.

The vertical sensor is also a little meaningless (and hardly qualifies
as "innovation", in my book). I like vertical shots and probably take
more than the average person, but there is no question that we live in
a horizontal/landscape world, especially when it comes to image
presentation on the web. Your monitor is horizontal. The layout of
most online photogalleries will thus show a horizontally composed
image at a larger size than a vertically composed one, which must be
scaled down to fit within the vertical dimension of your monitor. We
saw this same problem with the PDML annual (at least a couple of years
ago, the last time I looked) when a horizontal page layout was used,
making the vertical compositions look far less impressive than the
horizontally composed ones.

Well then you might want to start here:
http://lenses.zeiss.com/camera-lenses/en_de/camera_lenses/otus/otus1455.html
$4K for the lens, available in Nikon or Canon mounts only.

Optical design and camera design is a series of trade-offs. It is
silly to compare large format to medium format to DSLR to Point 'n
Shoot. It is all about the image circle and it is clearly going to
take wider diameter lens elements and more expensive glass types to
"do the optics correctly" as you scale up image size. A medium format
sensor needs lenses that can produce a larger image circle (with
quality). The idea of putting one in a "point 'n shoot" seems to
indicate a lack of appreciation for that fact and also doesn't really
mesh with the statement "All I want is a system which does optics
correctly". To do the optics correctly with a medium format sensor,
one would need the corresponding 645 lenses on the front of that
"folder" or "point 'n shoot".

I don't have a problem with idiots.
I have a problem with the fact that they have an internet connection.
