Quoting Ann Sanfedele <ann...@nyc.rr.com>:

answering myself -- OMG they DID it in NYC already! fortunately, I was blissfully unaware...

This really is shocking and surprising to me.. from so many young people getting on the think green bandwagon to this... it is
mind boggling.

sorry - I'm in rant mode

No need to apologise - ranting is good for the soul...

I've just discovered that there was a Color Run in Sydney a week or so ago - I was also blissfully unaware.

I'm incensed that they didn't recognise cultural differences by re-naming it "ColoUr Run" - or am I just being a grumpy old fart?

Cheers

Indeed. Anybody who's considering photographing a Color Run would be
well advised to read this first:

The question of what it does to your lungs is probably more important.

As Bob said.. and your eyes... and your pets lungs and eyes.

I had never heard of this stupid event before this thread. Alas, my
googling The Color Run got me to a page advertising -
"The Color Run, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique
paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality.
Now the single largest event series in the United States, The Color Run
has exploded since our debut event. We have more than tripled our
growth, hosting more than 170 events in 30+ countries in 2013."

(Aside to Alan, -not ONLY in America- it appears.)

There is a list of an awful lot of cities in the USA , however, for
these horrors to be perpetrated across the country.. Healthiness?
Individuality?

At least it aint happening in New York City. Knock wood.
