If you are paying attention (there WILL be a written test) you may
know that I bought my wife a K-01 some time ago. My plan was to
"borrow" it occasionally for astrophotography. She was mostly
intimidated by it and seems to greatly prefer her iPhone. She sort of
threw me for a loop when she asked if I would mind if we re-gifted it
to her best friend who had been pining for one. "Sure, hon!"

Bummer. So I have been desiring Focus Peaking ability and the K-01 was
still my LOWEST cost way of getting that feature. So I found a body
kit on Pentax Forums Marketplace with 1400 shutter count and it
arrived today. It is a beaut.

What I did NOT realize is that the K-01 (along with the K-30,
apparently) has a very WEAK AA filter.
"K-01 has only 1 LPF (Low Pass Filter).
Usually LPF consist of 3 layers (2 LPFs and 1 Wave Plate) but they
omitted 1 LPF and Wave plate as a result it equips only 1 layer of
LPF."

That is a bonus that I wasn't anticipating and should be a real plus
for astrophotography. More to come!
