I have a tradition of taking a macro shot of honey bees in crocus flowers, usually in March or early April. It's spring training for a new bug photography season...

The crocuses in my yard are almost gone - and I have yet to see a single Apis Mellifera. Bee populations are being decimated due to a several causes - but it may be that this harsh winter was the final blow for the locals. It's a troubling development.
