I wonder if any PDMLers have already used any
quadcopter+camera combination, and if so, - what do you think
about it.

I have a small helicopter I fly around the room when I'm
mega-bored but that'a as far as it goes.

I did think very briefly about looking into camera drones but I
have a friend/colleague who went into it - thew problem is that
to do it properly for broadcast TV (which would be my motive) one
needs to spend several thousand on good kit. Then there's
regulation - in the UK it requires a license (filming - even for
news - from an remote aerial vehicle requires certification) for
which there is all the rigamarole you would expect. It's
effectively a specialisation, and I already specialise in remote
shoot/edit/ satellite feed which is enough for now! That and too
much GoPro rigging gear and jibs etc.

Needing to build and tweek things (as it requires time and effort)
is one of the reasons I am staying away so far, despite the
temptation.

That said, the footage off these things - in the right hands -
is breathtaking.

And in the wrong hands.....

I'm afraid all I get is a black box in the middle of my browser window
where apparently some kind of video is supposed to play. NoScript is not
showing any blocked sites, so I don't know why it won't play.

Ain't technology wonderful?
