>Sigma made a 70mm macro? Yes! >I bet that would be an ideal portrait lens on aps. It is, indeed. I just happen to have alternatives in that range.
>Is it still in production and is it full frame capable? It is a highly regarded lens and -I believe- it is full frame capable (like some Pentax DA lenses). It should not be difficult to find. I also have Pentax F 50mm f/2.8 macro (1:1) which is great for macro. However, the barrel travels only a few millimeters between the macro range and infinity. This makes its routine use impractical; correct focusing is almost accidental (on K5). Vivitar Series 1 105mm f/2.8 is optically marvelous. It is, however, to heavy for "routine, hand-held use. Also, it lacks AF, if you are interested.
