I'll second Rock Arch and the Grand Hotel. Fort Mackinac can be interesting (there is another fort across the straights in Mackinaw City). There is a section of the beach where the water is Caribbean blue / green that I always thought was interesting. The state park offers some natural areas that I have enjoyed shooting in - but that is catch as you can depending on the day and the season.

If you are going to Mackinac Island you will no doubt pass the bridge and that offers some nice photo ops as well - it is the longest suspension bridge is the western hemisphere, though the part that is actually held up by cables shorter than the golden gate bridge, if I remember my Michigan trivia correctly. IIRC, there is a park on the U.P. side to the west of the bridge that is easy to get to.

When I was a kid my family took a few vacations to Mackinac Island, Mackinaw City and St. Ignace. The Lil Abner themed restaurant in St. Ignace was still there the last time I passed through a few years ago...

I will be on Mackinac Island & environs next week. Any suggestions as to photo ops. I don't want the wrath of this group for having missed "the shot."
