For those who don't need TTL and want a high powered flash, look at the Metz
45 CT series. They are cheap on ebay. I picked one up with a home made
battery pack for about 70 US. It replaced my old Metz 202 that I didn't want
to renew the power pack again. It swivels 180 as will as tilts 90.
Unfortunately, it does not tilt -15, ut I use a "brollie" for close-ups
anyway.
I tested this pact weekend with my very old "soff shoulder" for both
distance and close-up. It is a champ.
