Quoting Darren Addy <pixelsmi...@gmail.com>:

I'm a sporadic contributor to the PUG, but I look forward to it each
month. I can't think of anyone I'd rather have at the PUG "rudder"
than Brian. I say we name him PUG Dictator For Life.
:)

Dictator for life?

OK - but don't mention the war....

My only suggestion:
I would like to see the PUG display (and accept submissions) larger
than 800 px. I think that is kind of an archaic size limitation. Also,
if you choose "panoramas" as a theme next year AND only allow 800px
wide submissions, some of us are going to need magnifying lenses to
view the gallery.
:)

Not sure how big of a hassle it would be to change that, but I think
it is well past time to upsize the gallery/slideshow. My two pence.

We went through this exercise about 3 years ago, which is when we increased the size of submissions to 800 pixels/300k. I believe the issue is one of storage space on the Komkon server.

That said, it may be time to review the size - I'll discuss this with Igor to see if a modest increase in the size of individual images is feasible. I suppose one possible way of handling larger images would be to limit the size to 800 pixels in the main gallery but open larger images in Dropbox by clicking the gallery images.

As far as a panorama theme is concerned - yes, that would involve an increase in pixel dimensions, which is what we did the last time we had a Panorama theme.

Thanks for the feedback, Darren.
