Jack I can see detail in the whole photo. The dark are is just darker not black here.

Attila, what I intended, was that I would have liked to be able to better make 
out some detail pretty much over the entire frame.
The large dark area (at least on my monitor) completely disallows me to 
appreciate what I suspect is there.

Thanks, Jack and Bulent. This is almost full frame, cropped a bit from
the top and bottom to make it 9:16. I took another shot nearby which
shows the location, but the rocks aren't the subject anymore. It's
full frame, and it's under development (pun intended) <g>
