I have a relatively new Manfrotto 055CX3 tripod.

1. Minor issue. Short question: Is there a way to adjust the tension on the
swivel at the top of the legs? I.e., to adjust the force needed to open & close
the legs from stored to deployed position?
Background: When I carry it with legs partially extended, holding the
tripod roughly horizontal to the ground, one of the legs is loose enough that
it will open up under its own weight. My hand is big enough to hold two of the
legs at once but I can’t wrap my hand around all three. So when this happens I
need to reorient so that the looser leg is one of the two I am using to
hold/carry the tripod. A nuisance.

2. Apart from the obvious issues of keeping sand and dust from getting into the
joints, is there anything I could/should do to ensure a long working life for
the tripod?
