Shel, maybe its because i'm use to seeing the
info in the D1 viefinder ,but i like to see
my Shutter and my F stop at least, and mode i'm
in when using this type of camera.Withj the SF-1
i can see my shutter but no f stop.To do this i have
to keep the camera pointed to the subject and view
the top lcd panel.Inconveniant and hard to do as any
shift in position changes the numbers.
Having the info in the finder helps me,in that, i can
make adjustments for DOF etc while my eye is still
on the subject(s)(keep in mind mine move frequently):)
I know with needle veiwinder cameras you have to take
your camera off the sublect to see the f stop, but,it
stays the same, does not move when the camera does,so
you can still fiquire out what changes to make,if you
want.
So i quess i'm saying,either a needle inteface or
total information interface for Auto type cameras
are my preferences.

Dave

Subject: Viewfinder Information

There's been a fair amount of discussion and commentary about the
quality and amount of information available through various Pentax
viewfinders.  Apart from exposure information, what information do you
look for and find important.  Speaking for myself, all I care to see
is
a simple display which lets me know the exposure, whether it be by
needle alignment or some other simple method.  The display in the MX
is
more than adequate, although it shows the shutter speeds, which, as
far
as I'm concerned, is sometimes annoying.  Yet the information is
simple
and pretty unobtrusive.

So, what do you look for and prefer, and why?
