Thanks for your kind comments, Jack, Bob and Ann. Ann, that is not the sky. that is a blue background cloth that is part of a little "studio in a box" that I use sometimes for macro work. It has several cloth pieces that cover the back and the bottom. the sides are translucent, so you can use lights or flash through those sides, or expose the sides to the sun, as I did here, to get diffused light from one or both sides or even from the top or back. I don't think I did anything to the blue background at all in this shot.
