i haven't tried one; i've never really been tempted, as they are heavy and costly, and the only real advantage for me would be a brighter viewfinder, but at the expense of trickier focusing (since one generally focuses wide open regardless of the stop one shoots at)
the faulty f-stop math in that article makes me question whether Outdoor Photographer has real editors
