I don't really have any experience with any of the 24-50mm, when I was
in my lens collecting phase I eschewed, zooms for the most part. So
while I have lots of classic lenses, I only have a very limited number
of zooms and no 25-50 among them. I only know what I've read. However
I have often been tempted by the smc F 24-50 expecially if it's anything
like the F 35-70.

Correct me if I'm wrong, P.J. but I think you meant the M, A, and and
F 24-50mm f4.0 all sharing the same optical formula. That lens has
been called a "stack of primes" and is one that I expect the price to
rise on when the FF is shipping.

The widest rectilinear zoom with an aperture ring is the FA 20-35mm f4.0.
There's a 24-90mm FA 3.5~4.8 and an M, A, and and F 20-50mm f4.0 all sharing
the same optical formula. Those are pretty much your choices for lenses
with aperture rings. Except for the F 17-28mm fisheye zoom.

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what wide angle Pentax zoom lenses have aperture rings?
Like something in the 16-40mm zone?
the 16-45mm f/4 would be ideal but no aperture ring!
Unless I get the dremel out....
