The reason it is recommended not to use strange typefaces is because, the viewer probably does not have them on his computer and they will be changed to some default you have no control over. However, in Mark's case he is using .jpg images for those, so that is not a problem. He could also have used transparent .gif images to desplay the type with out the black background he has, as I did with my Logo(Title) on my home page. The typeface fits the image of his site perfectly, and I imagine he thought long and hard about what to use. OTOH, I tend to agree about the triangles.
The only other design decision I disagee with is that it is set up for an 800 pixel screen width, I would have set it up for 640 myself.
