You may remember the EX-rated 16-45/4 I bought from KEH on which the
aperture didn’t open when the lens was put on the camera. I called them,
explained that problem seemed to be that the little lever that opens the
aperture when the lens is mounted seemed to be bent and arranged to take
it in for repair. By the time I got it to them I noticed that there was an
EX+ rated copy of the lens had become available. I said I’d prefer an
exchange for it instead of a repair. That was fine with them.
Two days later I got an email saying my return had been processed and the
funds would be deposited in my account shortly. I called and complained
that I had requested an exchange not a return. Upshot: I got the EX+ lens
at the price of the EX lens and free shipping. The EX+ lens came with
Pentax lens and end caps and hood. I had to go to a little trouble, but
I'm happy with the way things worked out.
Eager to check out this well regarded lens. I’m guessing it will be on my
camera a lot.
