I had to have a go at getting a shot of the lunar eclipse. This one seems to bee the best, though I haven't closely examined all of them yet.
http://www.robertstech.com/temp/redmoon.jpg Shot with the K-5 and FA*300/2.8 (so this is cropped quite a bit). One half second exposure at f/6.7, ISO 1600 (with mirror pre-fire). I tried a teleconverter but the resultant vibration enhancement just revealed the inadequacy of my ball head for this application half-second exposures at these focal lengths require a gimbal mount of some kind. Atomospheric haze was a problem, too: post processing was a battle between sharpening and noise reduction with the inevitable unsatisfactory compromise. Stiil, I think the result isn't too bad for someone who has almost no experience with this kind of photography. -- Mark Roberts - Photography & Multimedia www.robertstech.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
