When I lived in San Jose, CA, Mt Hamilton was a continuous point of local 
interest. Eventually drove to
the Lick Observatory on it's top and
satisfied my listless curiosity re it's 
design and facilities.
About all I recall at this point is the
narrow, busy, hairy road. It did allow 
locals the occasional opportunity to
see snow.
