I think that tends to happen where ever doves come into contact with human settlements. Food scraps & feeders are easily available. We have droves of Laughing Doves & the larger Cape Turtle Doves here in town with large numbers at the camps in Kruger too. They are bold enough to steal off you plate!

completely take over an area and change its character completely.
Here in Maui, their ugly cooing is a constant background dissonance
