Thanks, Christine. The image was taken with the original Optio, which does not produce the same quality as the better current DSLRs, and I processed it quickly in Photoshop, using the automatic Smartfix.
Just as an exercise, I went back to the original file and processed it a bit more carefully: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=18179887 I think this is better, though certainly not perfect.
