i enjoyed the shots Mark linked, but didn't actually get a strong sense for the buildings; i do have a soft spot for brutalist architecture
last month we were in San Diego and Google Maps was in the process of misdirecting us — instead of the Torrey Pines nature reserve it had led us to the Torrey Pines Glider Port — on the way in, my partner remarked about an ugly building; i glanced at it and said i was intrigued, then i saw the sign and said oh my god it's the Salk Institute! i'm really glad i got to see it
