Putting a new motherboard into an existing system does add
complications, but they can be dealt with. It's coming together. I'm
taking precautions like setting a System Restore Point every few hours
and doing a full hard drive image at the end of the day (I have one
hard drive – an SSD – dedicated to just the O.S.). Of course, I don't
spend an entire day doing this stuff!

Here's what I've done so far (the major Adobe installs come tomorrow):

Change BIOS settings (disable motherboard sound card and video)
Repartition and reformat hard drive
Install O.S.
Install motherboard drivers
Install video card drivers
Download & install O.S. updates
Download & install Firefox
Download & install Avast anti-virus
Download & install ZoneAlarm software firewall
Download & install Slimware driver update software
Download & install drivers for sound card
Install Modem drivers
Install EditPad
Install MS Office
Install email client
Install WinSCP client
Install SyncToy
Install AlZip
Install PhoneTray Free
Install PTFB
Install CK Rename
Install FontViewer
Install Sam Spade for Windows
Install Sysinternals Autoruns
Install FastPictureViewer codec
Install Spyder2 Pro software
Run Spyder2 Pro and profile both monitors
Install PrintFix Pro custom print profiler
Manually copy old ICC profiles and other custom files (hosts, batch
files, etc.) from backups
Install ListFiles
Install Exact Audio Copy
Install MP3tag
Install Media Jukebox
Install TextPad
Install second email client
Install wireless laser printer (drivers & connection)
Install Epson photo printer
Install Epson scanner
Install Epson OCR software (which didn't ask for an install location
and installed itself on the wrong drive and then took forever to
relocate)
Install Lightroom and re-connect to database
Install Photomatix
Install Ashampoo Burning Studio
