It took several tries to get the bird to stay there. It kept trying to
fly off before the glue on its feet had set.

Of course, I'd then have to wait days after shooting to get home and have the
photos processed for the inevitable disappointment that I had missed the
decisive moment in one of my four to six attempted exposures.
The light at Davenport last week, which challenging in other ways, was great
for shining through the waves, which were also in nice form.
