The dog seems to be in better shape right now than I am. Four weeks ago I was afraid he was going to die. Now I'm afraid that keeping up with him is going to finish me off.

I haven't been hanging out much lately. Infirmities, both mine and my dog's have been taking up quite a bit of my available time.

I felt up to taking a light kit to the local wildlife preserve today, and what could be lighter than a 500mm Mirror Telephoto, with which I captured this.

Which appears to be a, very lost, Little Blue Heron, well outside his usual range.

I remember reporting to the list that this freebee lens, to me at least, seemed to be pretty damned sharp, with the caveat, that it could actually be focused. I took about 30 shots of this guy before he decided to fly away, and this is the only one that the damned green focus confirmation spot was even close with. I really need a decent split image RF screen to use with the K-5II, unfortunately Katzeye has finished orders for their last run.

Equipment: Pentax K-5II w/Kalimar MC 500mm Mirror f8.0

As usual comments are welcome but may be totally ignored.
