Wow never heard of these scams before. Cheers, Christine

I've gotten the IRS scam call. It's not even a real person, just a bunch
of phrases strung together by a computer with pauses in wrong places and
a demand that you call a certain phone number. But I get the same damn
call again and again and again. I've had it come in as many as 10 times
a day (based on the snippets of it on my answering machine).

I just delete those messages from the answering machine. If the IRS
really wants to get in touch with you, they'll send you a letter by
certified mail telling you when and where to appear for the audit.

I'm getting "final expenses insurance", Medicare supplements &
prescription plans. Multiple calls per day with the same robot on the
other end.

There's two ways to deal with them - either don't say anything after you
pick up so the robot gets confused & disconnects or you can answer the
qualifying question (Are you over 65?) with "No" in hopes the logic tree
it's using will somehow decide you're not a good prospect. Neither one
seems to work.

If there was some program that would allow me to take control of the
computer on the other end of the robo-call so I could nuke it, I'd be
interested.

I'll probably take a close look at one of those call blocking devices.
Is there one that I can program with the numbers I want to allow through
that will block everything else?
