I have a working black P30 too. I would probably still shoot some film if there was a local photo lab still in operation. They used to develop & digitise a 24exp. film for about $10. If I shot film now I would either have to drive 200km to take advantage of their 2hour service or send the films off by post. I really wouldn't bother to have old film cameras serviced any more. Thank goodness for digital.

I believe Eric Hendrickson still does CLA's on ME Supers. I replaced
mine with a very clean black model that had been recently serviced.
Though I shoot a lot of film still it does not get much use - honors go
the the Mz-S and Pz-1p.

I have 3 ME Supers. (One bought new & the other two from a job lot I bought). One still works perfectly, one doesn't fire occasionally & the third fires only intermittently. From what I have read, a CLA (Clean, Lube & Adjust) service is necessary. Are there still techs who can do that? Apparently the grease on the many levers & pivots hardens with time, causing the problem. I tried leaving them in the sun which helped for a while but the problem recurred after a couple of hours.

Damn! I had an ME Super with the same problem that I tossed about a year
ago. I should have tried that.

You are the 2nd or 3rd person that suggested that. So I just whacked it a few times for the 2nd or 3rd attempt. It worked!

Thanks Bob, and thanks to all who contributed suggestions!

Stan,
Give it a sharp spank or three.
I've cleared some hangups this way before on the ME Super.

Good thought. But no help. I have worked the settings-dial back and forth a few times. The only position that feels different is L (Lock?). When in L position the shutter does not depress at all. In all other positions the shutter button moves but does nothing.

Did you try setting to 125x position? isn't it supposed to be the only mechanical speed? or Bulb?

I'll contact the seller - I got most of my money's worth just with
