Jerome, it's not your rechargables being "cheap" - most of the
high-ends are made by same chinese factory as the cheaper ones... GP
is a big chinese producer of rechargables. What counts most is the
*charger*. Most chargers are "stupid", overcharging the batteries
thus diminishing their life, especially cheap built-in chargers like
in CD players and mobile phones. Get a good quality, dV, IC driven
charger for your NiMH and you will be a very happy person :)
