I like both, but the BW could be intriguing. It is a bit dark, although I think
the black point is good. I would do a levels adjustment and move the white
point quite a bit, ignoring those speculate highlights.

Thanks a bunch, I think that really helped. I mostly just moved the "whites" slider to the right.

Some excellent shots, I love 32108.
Thanks a bunch Paul. I'm curious how people feel about it in color:

versus black and white:

And if the B&W is too dark.

Well. if you hadn’t told us you weren’t happy with the focusing, we wouldn’t
know it from this set. Nice stuff!
Thanks Marco. Despite my reputation to the contrary, I actually do know how to
refrain from showing the crappy photos.

Also thanks to Dan and Malcolm, and everyone else who had a look.

Some friends of mine run a weekly blues jam. Tonight was the last one this
year, and they did it as a benefit to raise money for a friend (the fellow in
the first six frames of the set). Most of these were shot with the K-1 and the
FA 80-200/2.8, a few with the 15-30 and the 28-105, and one with my bigma. I
think I lost fewer shots to missed focus than with earlier bodies, but I'm
still not completely happy with the focusing on the K-1.

Lighting was with led spots, with a lot of blue in the back.

If anyone has hints for how to increase the autofocus hit rate when
photographing musicians moving around on stage, I'm interested.
On the plus side, the K-1 doesn't seem to obsess on the microphone as badly as
previous bodies did either.

I don't know if I got any knockout photos, but I trimmed down the facebook set
to 41 competent frames for flickr, I'm pretty happy with the set:

For gear heads who want to see the exif data:

I haven't yet applied any noise reduction via the slider in lightroom.

Comments and such are appreciated as always.
