I need to purchase a digital camera for work purposes, and don't have a clue where to start. My budget stretches as far as an Optio 220 or Coolpix 775 It doesn't need to be high resolution 1.3 - 2.0 mp is sufficient. The wider the better. I often need to take photographs of work areas where, due to space constraints, I cannot move farther away. (I currently use 24mm- 28mm slr lens). I don't particularly need a zoom (optical or digital, fixed focal length may even be better if I get a little extra speed. I'd like the downloaded files to be jpeg. (Do any or all of them do this???). Build quality needs to be high as I'll carry this around every day in a shoulder bag, and it will get heavy use.
I use the photographs in documents to support and illustrate points I'm writing about. They would typically be printed three to a page on A4 paper, so about the size of a standard photo. I'd occasionally use it for snaps, but that would be rare (unless they bring out a model I can dunk in x-tol). I have a copuple of Pentax flash units AF 400 FTZ and a 200s (or something like that). If I have the option of using those, it would give me a little more flexibility. All opinions on Pentax or otherwise is welcome. Darryn Richter - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
