The cutoff leg doesn't bother me as it appears to be a deliberate decision rather than a mistake.

This macro foray is rapidly turning into an entomology project.
The ant is a regular wood ant worker (formica sp.) who strayed into the house
and died on the living room floor.
As insects often do, it had curled all its legs up underneath. So I had to
soften it for a while in vinegar before attempting to arrange legs and antennae
in a more lively pose. Then dry it out, remove debris and dust, and then place
it on a piece of bark.

Stacked in Zerene Stacker from 300 shots by 645Z with FA-150/2.8 and FA-75/2.8
as diopter (ca. 2X magnification). End result is cropped by about 50%.
