My scanned prints (Agfa Duoscan > 2500T and Epson 1200) are far sharper than anything I can get from a > machine print mini lab and considerably sharper than prints from the pro > labs. I don't know why, but they are. Negatives are printed with a diffussion light source. They are scanned with a point source. The resolution limit for a wet print from a medium format negative is around 60 lppm, but 1/4 that is more likely in the real world with real negatives rather than 1000:1 TOC targets. So, you need to get better than 15 lppm to the paper with your inkjet printer. This shouldn't be hard to get with an inkjet.
