Thanks, Dan - I like them both and can envision them together as a pair.

I had hoped to catch the bud in the first image before any of the petals popped, so the slight imperfection of a couple petals breaking free is a little off from my plan. I have a couple of other potential subjects that I may be able to catch at the right moment.

Plants are by no means fast moving but a day or even half a day can mean the difference between the subject envisioned and the subject on hand.

Studio macro. Pentax K1, DFA 100mm macro, pixel shift mode, 46 stacked
images combined in Zerene Stacker.

This was more difficult to stack and needed more touching up due to the
much greater distance form front to back.
