About a third of the way through I figured out it was easier to leave the ball head alone once I got it locked down & adjust tripod legs to keep the image in the frame using Live View. If I live long enough to make it to the 2024 eclipse, I'm going to have some kind of astro-tracker that will mount two cameras and I'm going to be on site the night before so I can set it up using the north star. -- Science - Questions we may never find answers for.
