I kinda was serious... because the photo was so very very sharp and you mentioned being hard to fine in your bird book... since I was , myself, fooled by a faux owl , I thought it possible.. His eyes don't look quite real, which I guess is just the way the light was striking him. Glad
to hear he is a live'unĀ  - it is a very nice shot
