A very elusive group of Trumpeter Hornbills has been frequenting Phalaborwa gardens for the past month or so. Often heard but seldom seen. Their call is reminiscent of a braying donkey. They rarely come to town, preferring the riverine habitat some 20km south. They are about the size of a Macaw. Late yesterday I finally got a chance to photograph a pair at a distance - couldn't get closer without trespassing. This was the best of several shots & only really good for ID.
