Well, I'm just back from cycling in France, where it got up to 37C. It was 
drier over there, which is much nicer than the humidity we have here, and their 
architecture is designed to deal with it. I don't have aircon at home, but the 
house is south-facing, so quite cool in the back rooms, and with the windows 
open some air can move around.

Since my post we've had storms, thunder, lightning and hailstones and it's a 
lot cooler now.
