Yes, that's true, but to my eye, it's quite surreal.   In addition while the water level on the left looks much higher, there's no size reference, except for the figures that on the beach to the right, which I didn't notice until well after taking in the apparent water level difference which snaps one back to reality.  At least that's how I see it.  Either that or the drugs I'm taking are a lot stronger than I thought.
