This whole thing is a public relations godsend for Macron. The nation will be unified behind one of its most famous symbols. For a while at least. And look at how kind the super-rich are. Some of them have even promised not to offset the money they've pledged for the renovation of Notre Dame from the tax they aren't paying anyway.
