Yes, John, I know it is not "Hello Kitty." That was a bit of a joke, like my previous captions of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" instead of The Lion King and "Froggy came a'courtin'" for the frog balloon. Besides, if I captioned it "Maneki-neko," not many here would have any idea what I was talking about.
Pink, of course, is an unusual color for maneki-neko; it usually means the owner is looking for romance, rather than success or money.
