The A lens is a different beastie from the later lenses. The A lens is 7
elements in 7 groups. The later lenses are 9 elements in 8 groups.

The A lens is what Pentax dubbed a Fixed Rear Element Extension design,
whatever that means. I never saw another lens from them with the FREE
designation.
Anyway, the A is a good lens, but subject to rear element reflections.
